What a busy busy day!
I started off this morning getting up an hour earlier than usual. This was huge accomplishment for me as I am NOT a morning person. Not even a little bit. I got J to daycare, ran to the bank and then met my boss at his airplane hangar. He's been having his plane serviced for the last 3 or 4 weeks & he finally got the call that it was ready to pick up today. Woohoo! That means more aerial photo ops next week. I love being up in the air, and especially being out of the office on pretty summer days. So instead of my typical Friday in the office I spent 8+ hours on the road today. The drive to Boerne, where his plane was, is about three and a half hours. After I dropped him off I met some old friends for lunch at one of my favorite Mexican food places, El Chapparal, and then turned around and headed back to Port A.
Phew!
I knew wouldn't get back in time to pick up the Squash from daycare so he went home with his friend K when her dad picked her up and got a little playdate in this afternoon. Fun! Then we made a quick trip to the grocery store. Btw, our local grocery store is NOT impressive, and on top of that it was soooooo super crowded. Ugh. Anyway, we made it out of there alive and fought tourist traffic & finally made it home. I am pretty proud of myself because the marinara sauce I made for our spaghetti was probably some of the best I've ever made.
After we finished dinner we loaded back up and headed across town (a whole 3 minutes away) to visit and play with some friends. Ginny made me a spectacular margarita & Joshie had a blast with her two little wild girls. We finally made it home around 10:15. Way past J's bedtime but I got him cleaned up & tucked in and he is currently snoozing hardcore. I'm lucky to have such a sweet boy!
It was a pretty crazy day and I'm glad to be home. Definitely ready to crawl into my comfy bed & drift off to dreamland.
